A community that travels with us.

Wherever Odia families gather, our culture goes with them — in their kitchens, their festivals, their language. We exist to make sure none of it gets lost in translation.

Our Story

Born of a quiet question.

"Will my grandchildren know what Pana Sankranti is?"

That question — asked by an Odia grandmother in a Connecticut kitchen — became the seed of this foundation.

Across the United States and Canada, tens of thousands of Odia families have built beautiful lives. But with each generation born here, the bond to Odisha — to its language, its rituals, its food, its rhythms — needs hands to hold it. So we built a community of those hands.

The Shree Chakradhara Mallik Foundation was named in honour of an elder of our family — a quiet man who taught his children that culture is not something you protect by holding tight; it's something you keep alive by sharing.

Mission

To carry the soul of Odisha — its food, its language, its rituals, its stories — into the homes and hearts of every Odia family living far from home.

Vision

An Odia diaspora where every child knows the taste of chakuli, the sound of Odia, and the warmth of belonging to a culture that travelled with them.

Approach

We are family-led, community-funded, and built on partnership — not branding. We work with local chapters, never around them.

Our Values

Five quiet promises.

    Respect for elders

    The recipes, the rituals, the language — they came to us from our grandparents. Every program we build honours that lineage.

    Open to every Odia family

    Regardless of background, region, language fluency or generation — if you carry Odia roots, there is a place for you here.

    Children at the centre

    Every initiative we run asks: does this give our children a thread back to Odisha?

    Partnership, not competition

    We collaborate with OSA, OSNE, and every local Odia association — never duplicating, always lifting.

    Transparency

    Every dollar raised by the foundation funds programs and community. We will publish an annual report from our first full year onward.

Nonprofit Standing

A registered cultural nonprofit.

The Shree Chakradhara Mallik Foundation is organized as a not-for-profit cultural foundation. We are pursuing 501(c)(3) recognition with the IRS — once granted, all donations from US donors will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. Our EIN, financial summary, and board composition will be published on this site as soon as filings are complete.
